There is now video footage of the incident involving Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill and the Miami-Dade Police Department.

The body cam video of Hill’s detainment Sunday morning outside of Hard Rock Stadium before the Dolphins’ season opener for the 2024 season was revealed on Monday night. It’s the first footage of the incident since the initial reports.

Hill was briefly handcuffed after he was stopped for a driving violation, but he was eventually released. He was not placed under arrest and no charges were filed.

The star wide receiver played in Miami’s contest hours later, recording seven catches for 130 yards and a touchdown in the Dolphins’ 20-17 win over the Jaguars.

Tyreek Hill body cam video

On Monday night, Miami-Dade police published the body cam footage from Miami-Dade police of the incident with Hill.

The clip starts with the officer getting off his motorcycle after pulling over Hill. The officer asks the wide receiver why he doesn’t have his seatbelt on before Hill rolls his window up, blocking clear communication with the officer.

After the officer repeatedly asks Hill to put the window back, he orders Hill to step out of the vehicle. Hill can be heard on the phone with his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, before he is pulled out of the vehicle. The officer can be seen grabbing Hill by the head/neck and forcing him into his stomach on the ground and eventually put into handcuffs.

Why did Tyreek Hill get detained?

Hill was officially cited for careless driving and a seatbelt violation after reportedly speeding on his way to Hard Rock Stadium.

One officer was placed on administrative leave hours after the detainment, and the Miami-Dade Police Department said it was investigating what led to the incident.

The South Florida Police Benevolent Association released more details in a statement Monday, clarifying that Hill was never under arrest but rather “briefly detained for officer safety.”

The police union claimed Hill was “not immediately cooperative with the officers on scene” after being pulled over for “driving in a manner in which he was putting himself and others in great risk of danger.”

Who is Tyreek Hill’s agent?

Hill’s agent is Drew Rosenhaus, who owns Rosenhaus Sport, a sports agency based out of Miami.

Rosenhaus most recently helped negotiate hill’s restructured deal with the Dolphins. The contract is for four years and is worth $120 million, with $72.2 million of the deal fully guaranteed.

In addition to HIll, Rosenhaus has been, or previously was, the agent for other notable NFL players such as Aaron Jones, Antonio Brown, Chad Johnson, Frank Gore, Rex Grossman, Rob Gronkowski, LeSean McCoy, Jimmy Smith, Terrell Owens, and Warren Sapp.
